dead roses

So I got my tax return and bought a ton of flowers the other day and photographed for two days.  My daughters helped with the flower arranging and Ideas.  I had a bunch of past due roses and My youngest started to cut the heads off and spread the flowers out.  Turns out nearly dead roses take far more interesting photos than perfectly formed fresh cut roses.  I love the dark gradients on the edges of the petals.  Black and white roses is one of the dead flower shots we took this weekend.....so I have like 150 photos to add.   Been busy.. and those are just the keepers.  There simply isnt enough time.

I love to draw paint, work in pastels and create digital art from scratch and using landscape photos as a base. I am busy as a graphic design senior in a bachelors program, but still find time to spend on my work. I hope someday to make a living with my skills. My subjects are mostly landscapes, but sometimes I delve into abstraction. I have been an artist all my life, however it is only now I am actually trying to walk the fine line of staying true to your ideals, and finding what you can do to become marketable.
